James McDill, the 2nd of two sons born to John McDill and the former Mary Brown; was the twin to his sister, Nancy Agnes born on June 4th 1806.
In 1836, James married Miss Sarah Jane Moffet was a daughter of Samuel Moffett and Mary Margaret "Polly" Curry. They would have the following known children:
