Jennie McDill was a daughter of John and Mary [née Brown] McDill. Born in Chester, South Carolina; Jennie married William F. Moffatt with whom she had the following known children:

James Ebenezer (1838-1914)
William Hemphill (1842-1883)
After William died in 1844, Jennie emigrated west to the area around Troy, Tennessee with several of her children and their families; where they were members of Troy A.R.P. church.
Jane "Jennie" McDill Moffatt departed this life on December 2nd 1875 at the home of her son; Rev. Thomas P. Pressly officiating at her burial.
