The obituary for George Jasper Curry, who was Shelby county's oldest native born citizen and perhaps the oldest resident of Shelby county, stated that he had died Dec. 25, 1935 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Margaret Blue in Shelbyville. Burial was in Ash Grove Cemetery. He was born, Sep. 30, 1840 in Ash Grove township, the s/o Silas and Angelina Curry. He married Sarah Ann Bennett, Oct. 4, 1860 and she died Apr 1934. Surviving were children, William E. Curry of Goodland, KS; Mrs Margaret E. Blue of Shelbyville; Mrs. Fannie R. Falk of Strasburg; Mrs. Myrtle Tressler of Ash Grove and Silas Curry of Lovington. One daughter, Mrs. Angelina Curry Price died at Goodland, KS several years ago. Strasburg Herald, 3 Jan 1936.
