Monroe Kirby Dies Following Illness
Monroe Kirby, 72, of 1014 4th Ave. SE, died today at 7:50 a.m. in Decatur General Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Body was to be returned to the residence today. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 3 p m . at Johnson’s Chapel by the Revs. Eaton Stephenson and Isaac Eddy.
Burial will be in Johnson’s chapel cemetery, Brown Funeral of Decatur directing. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George Yancy and Mrs. Hubert Crow, both of Decatur and Mrs. Erbie Eddy of Danville 3; two sons, Tarnce of Decatur and Freeman of Hartselle 4; and one sister, Mrs. Mattie Puckett, Hartselle 3.
