Mattie Sirilda Kirby Puckett was born Thursday, March 6, 1890 in Lawrence County, Alabama, to William Jackson Kirby and Rachel Frances Harvel Kirby.

She married Rube Ernest Puckett, Sr., an adopted son of Darius Clay Puckett and Margaret Malissa Beams Puckett.

Hartselle -- Mrs. R. E. Puckett, 72, Hartselle 2, died today at 4:30 a.m. at a local hospital.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Johnson Chapel Methodist Church, Rev. Steve Yarbrough, Rev. Eaton Stephenson and Rev. Finis Self officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Peck directing.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lazelle Henderson, Old Hickory, Tenn. Mrs. Annie Henderson, Decatur; seven sons, Elmer W. Puckett, Hartselle 2; Leo F. Puckett, Decatur; J. D. Puckett, Robert Puckett, Danville, Lucian Puckett, Jacksonville, N. C.; James C. Puckett, Hartselle; John T. Puckett, Durham, N. C.; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be sons.

Mrs. Puckett was a member of Johnson Chapel Methodist Church.

The body will remain at the funeral home tonight and will be carried to the residence at 10 a.m. Thursday where it will remain until time for services.
