Funeral services for Mrs. Florence M. Smith, 79, were held Thursday, December 30, 1965, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ in Anthon with Rev. Russell Casey, pastor of the Church of Christ in Marshalltown, and Rev. Ted Sieck officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Wilson-Hull Funeral Service.
Mrs. Smith was born February 7, 1886, near Anthon. She married Carl O. Smith July 3, 1902, at Midway. The couple farmed in the Anthon and Correctionville communities until retiring to Correctionville in 1949. Mr. Smith died in 1953.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Anthon. Survivors include three sons, Wilbur of Quimby, Donald and Raymond of Correctionville, six daughters, Mrs. Lila Livermore and Mrs. Mildred Forch of Anthon, Mrs. Vera Fisher of Moville, Mrs. Dorothy Lage of Marcus, Mrs. Bonnie Lee Phillips of Oto, and Mrs. Evelyn Jerman of Indianapolis, Indiana, four sisters, Mrs. Mabel Beeson of Washta, Mrs. Jennie Pierce and Mrs. Iva Hayworth of Sioux City, and Mrs. Mary Hayworth of Anthon, two brothers, Ray Coon of Sioux City and Albert Coon of Chicago, thirty grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren.
Burial: 30 December 1965, Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, Woodbury Co., Iowa
