James Oller, Retired Miner, Dies This Morning
James Oller, 84, retired miner of this city, died this morning in a nursing home in Pana, following a linger illness.
Mr. Oller was born December 19, 1861, in Greenwood Township, a son of Peter and Abigail Coleman Oller, and the greater part of his life was spent in this community. He was employed as a miner until ill health forced his retirement several years ago. He was married at Raymond to Mary Anderson on December 21, 1882.
Surviving are his wife and several children: Gilbert Oller of Tovey, Mrs. A. H. Wiedenkeller, of Decatur, Mrs. John Love, Mrs. Pauline Cole and Fred Oller, all of Taylorville, Mrs. Ed McGee, Chicago, Nelson of Mason City, and Frank of St. Paul, Minnesota. A daughter, Mrs. Alex Morgan preceded him in death. He also leaves two brothers, John of California and Charles of this city, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Chestnut, Pearce and Connolly Funeral Home where it will remain until after the services and where friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home. Rev. A. S. Chapman, pastor of the Methodist Church will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Note: The brother, John Oller, listed above was the identical twin brother to James C. Oller.
