Charles was 81 years, 9 months and 12 days old at the time of his death. He died at St. Vincent's Hospital in Taylorville, Illinois at 6:00 a.m. on May 15th, 1948 of cardiac failure. He had been a patient there for 30 days.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at the Chestnut-Pearce and Connolly Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Hugh Ridley officating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, Illinois.
