Death of Aged Pratt Countian Occurs in Pratt Early This Morning.

Sam Oller, 78, died about 2 o'clock this morning October 20, 1931 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Gayen, 211 North Hamilton. Mr. Oller had been ill since last June and his condition had been serious for the past four weeks.

Samuel A. Oller was born in Greenwood Township, Christian County, Illinois January 7, 1853 the third oldest of eleven children born to Peter Oller and Abigail Coleman Oller. Peter Oller was one of the first settlers in Greenwood Township and the owner of 400 acres of fine farm land.

Samuel Oller married Amanda Hodge January 20, 1878 in Christian County, Illinois.

Mr. Oller and his wife Amanda moved to Kansas 54 years ago from Illinois and lived in McPherson and Kingman counties before moving to Pratt County, where he had engaged in farming for many years. Mrs. Eliza Vonachen, of Rock Island, Illinois, a sister, who had been visiting at Coldwater, died last Wednesday following a short illness and her body was taken back east for burial.

Besides Mrs. Oller, he leaves eight children, 57 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. There are five daughters and three sons: Mrs. Carl Hearn of Dodge City, Mrs. Jessie Dunham of Granada, Colorado, Mrs. Lucy McManaman of Copeland, Mrs. Harry Whittner and Mrs. Gayen, both of Pratt, Arthur and Eugene Oller, both of Cunningham and Walter Oller of Pratt.

Funeral services will be held at Rosser's Chapel Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the cemetery near Cunningham.
