She was the daughter of James and Carrie Hardison Ledenham. She graduated from West Station High School in 1924. She married L. B. Hartgrove on Sept. 7, 1929 in Waco, Texas. She was survived by two sons, Billy R. and L. B. "Bubba" Hartgrove; two sisters, Dorothy and Odessa; three brothers, Melvin, A. V. and Roy Ledenham; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a daughter, Virginia Sue Doell.
