He was born November 12, 1901 at Eagleville, Missouri, the son of Martin A. and Martha J. Hobbs Mumma. A lifetime resident of Healy, he was a farmer.
On December 15, 1923 he married Jennie E. Durham at Dighton. She died September 18, 1983.
Survivors include; two sons, Gilbert Mumma and Roland Mumma, both of Scott City; a brother, Loren Ray Mumma, Healy; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. and a great-great-grandchild.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 1993 at Healy United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Krause presideing. Burial was in the Healy Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the Healy United Methodist Church in care of Price and Sons Funeral Home Scott City, Kansas.
