Thursday, June 6, 1965
Roy Barnett Foster, son of Wayne and Frances Foster, was born near Chariton, Ia., on Feb. 25, 1885, and died at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital Sunday evening, May 23, 1965, at the age of 80 years and 3 months, after an extended illness.
With the exception of a few years in Kansas his entire life was spent in Lucas County.
He was preceded in death by one sister, four brothers and a daughter, Dorothy Marie, and three grandsons.
Survivors include his wife Edna, two sons, Roland of Aurora, Ill., Lyle of Chariton and three daughters, Evelyn Wells and Darlene Smith both of Chariton and Doris Fazio of Des Moines; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; six sisters including Lola Clowser and Bernice Victor of Chariton and one brother, seventeen nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Chariton. He was a kind and loving husband and father and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held at Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home at 2 P.m., May 26, 1965, with the Rev. Virgil Shickell officiating and interment in the Chariton cemetery.
