David "Elva" Pendleton was a son of Robert Henry Pendleton and Mary Jane Casto-Pendleton and the first child of eight.

1900 US Census listing Elva age 10 living with his parents and siblings in Turnback Township, Lawrence County, Missouri.

December 23, 1910 at age of 20 Elva and Manervia Haseltine "Nerva" Pack are married at the Baptist Church in Nogo, Pope County, Arkansas.

1910 US Census listing Elva and Nerva living in Independence, Pope County, Arkansas.

June 5, 1917 WWI Draft Registration card listing Elva as married with children and living in Nogo, Pope County, Arkansas.

1920 US Census listing Elva, Nerva and one daughter Maude living in Independence, Pope County, Arkansas next door to his parents, Robert Henry and Mary Jane and his baby brother Alfred Pendleton.

April 27, 1942 WWII Draft Registration card listing Elva living in Nogo, Pope County, Arkansas.

All the above records listed Elva as a farmer. Elva and Nerva had two daughters:

1. Maude Evelyn Pendleton-Dare-Bell - 1911-1979
Her husband Roy Bryon Dare died and Maude remarried to William Everette Bell, Sr.

2. Alta Pendleton - died at the age of six years old.

Elva and Nerva attended the Baptist Church. Their only child living gave them 7 grandchildren:

4. Isabelle Marie Bell-Plunk
