Second Husband of my great grandmother Rose Etta Dingman.

Chauncey Russ was married to my great grandmother, Rose Etta Dingman Edgerton. He raised his stepdaughter Mable Edgerton (my grandmother) and loved her as his own daughter. After Rose dies, he marries again, his second wife dies and he marries for a third time.

Chauncey Russ is buried in the Russ family plot, he does not have an individual headstone per Ames Cemetery caretaker.

CHAUNCEY RUSS
Chauncey Russ, former resident of Canajoharie, died Thursday at St. Mary's hospital in Amsterdam after an illness of two months.
The deceased was 59 years of age and was born at Sprakers' Basin, a son of John Russ and Julia Quackenbush Russ. For many years Mr. Russ was a farmer and at one time was employed by the Michaelson Creamery of this village as a teamster. He had also been employed on the N. Y. C. and West Shore railroads.
Surviving are his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Dingman of Salt Springville, and Mrs. Morgan Dingman of Palatine Bridge; one son, Arthur Russ of Canajoharie; also two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilder of Sprakers, and Mrs. Katherine Loring of Cobleskill, and two brothers, Charles Russ of Sprakers, and Menzo S. Russ.
Funeral service will be held this afternoon at 2 at the Houghtaling Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel W. Spear of the Methodist Episcopal church officiating and interment made at Ames.

The marriage of Mrs. Julia Relyea and Chauncey Russ, both residents of 18 South William street, was performed Saturday, June 21, at the parsonage of the Methodist church by Rev. David Paton, pastor.
