The Smiths Grove native was a retired banker for American National Bank, a member of First Baptist Church and the Independent Order of Oddfellows. He was a son of the late John Hawkins and Henrietta Allen Hawkins and husband of the late Retha Demunbrun Hawkins. He was preceded in death by a brother, John William Hawkins.
Survivors include a son, Alan Royce Hawkins and his wife, Jenean, of Inman; a granddaughter, Crystal Tuffill and her husband, Travis, of Spartanburg; a grandson, Matthew Hawkins of Inman; two great-grandchildren, Bryan Tuffill and Christian Tuffill, both of Spartanburg; and a nephew, Charles English of Bowling Green.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery No. 2.
