West Point - Howard David "Dave" Colley, 70, of West Point, died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7,2006, at Home Hospital. Born March 23, 1936, to the late Eddie D. and Mary Victoria Dickey Colley in Lafayette, he attended Jefferson High School and lived most of his life in Lafayette. He resided in Monticello from 1972 to 1984. He was a Navy veteran who served during the Korean War. He married Wanda Fidler Colley on March 17,1991. She survives. Mr. Colley worked in shipping and receiving at Alcoa for 10 years, retiring in 1994. He had previously worked as a contractor in Monticello. He was a member of West Point Untied Methodist Church; member of former master of Masonic Lodge 103 in Dayton; and was a former member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tippecanoe Shrine Club, Eagles Lodge and West Point Lions Club. Surviving with his wife are two sons, Mark Colley (wife: Cindy) of Tulsa, Okla., and David Kevin Colley of Lafayette; a daughter, Melissa Burns (husband: Mike) of Templeton, a stepson, Shawn Sanburn (wife: Debbie) of Lafayette; and a brother, Eddie D. Colley 11 of Indianapolis. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Hippensteel Funeral Home with Masonic service at 7p.m. Funeral service there 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Alan Downing officiating. Interment West Point Cemetery. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and 1 grandniece. Preceded in death by brother, Robert Colley. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care.
