Eliza W. Kelso was included in her father Andrew Kelso's 1820 and 1830 U.S. Censuses for Portage County, as one of his two daughters (the other daughter was Mary Jane, born 1816-20, who married John Nutting Farrar). As there was only one Kelso family in Portage County, those two females found in marriage records in that county are the two daughters of Andrew and Deborah.
She should not be confused with Eliza W. Kelso #250163576, daughter of John Kelso and Sarah (Peterson) Wise Kelso (her correct name), married to Jonah Marshall in 1832 in Clark County, Ohio, where her father was listed in the 1830 and 1840 U.S. censuses. There is no evidence that this Kelso family ever lived in or near Portage County, Ohio, however the closeness of the names and birthdates of the two Elizas has confused descendants.
