CHARLES SAWYER, ELKHARTAN FOR 14 YEARS, DEAD AT 73
Charles F. Sawyer, 73, a resident of Elkhart for 14 years, and who for many years conducted a boarding stable for horses on Harrison street, died at 3:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of his son, Henry Sawyer, 1011 South Second street. Death was due to uremic poisoning from which he had been ill for several weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home, Rev. Mr. White officiating. The body will be placed in the vault at the Rice cemetery.
Mr. Sawyer was born in Portage county, Ohio, July 24, 1846. Surviving, in addition to the son at whose home he died, is his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Sawyer; son, Vernon Sawyer; daughter, Mrs. Charles Fedder, all of this city; and a half-brother, James Taylor, Barley, Neb. Prior to coming to this city Mr. Sawyer had been a farmer for a number of years.
