Carl Woodrow "Woodie" Smith, 66, of R.R. 4, Box 269, Bloomington, died at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 20, 1998) at his home.


Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, the Rev. Ralph Crowell officiating. Burial will be at Secor Cemetery, Secor. Military rites will be accorded by Carl S. Martin Post 635 American Legion, Normal. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the memorial home.

Memorials may be made to Mid-West Kidney Center, 1124 Berkley, Peoria, 61603.

Mr. Smith was born Jan. 11, 1932 at Bobtown, Ky., the son of Alfred Jasper "Jack" and Ada Lillis Crockett Smith. He married Sharon Gingerich Feb. 24, 1979 at Hudson. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Rodney Scott Smith residence unknown; two sisters, Edna Denney of Bloomington and Iva Dean Gaddis of Bemidji, Minn.; and one brother, Gilbert Smith of Bloomington.

He was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters and four brothers.

Mr. Smith was a member of the Carl S. Martin American Legion Post 635, Normal. He was a veteran of the Navy, where he served in the Korean Conflict.

He drove a truck for Rowe Construction, Bloomington.
