She was born July 1, 1918, at Somerset, Ky., the daughter of Alfred J. Smith and Ada L. Crockett. She married James Orville Denney on Dec. 27, 1933, in Bobtown, Ky. He died June 13, 1987.
Surviving are one son, Jim (Louise) Denney, Bloomington; one daughter, Sharon (Bill) Hunt, Springfield; one brother, Gilbert (Sherry) Smith, Bloomington; one sister, Iva (Robert) Gaddis, Bejemge, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her parents; one daughter, Jean, five brothers, two sisters and one grandson preceded her in death.
She was a former member of the Towanda Baptist Church. Edna was a member of the Bloomington Moose, Elks and Eagles Lodges. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and she was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a former caregiver in the Bloomington-Normal area. She enjoyed gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all who knew her.
