Born in Utica, May 3, 1911, he was the son of Edward J. Barry and the late Vera Dignan Barry. He was graduated from St. Agnes School, Assumption Academy and the Excelator School of Business. He was employed in the office of the Savage Arms Corporation. His wife is the former Catherine Vitale [Barry]of Utica. He was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Surviving besides his wife and father are a son, Michael; a daughter, Ruth; two brothers; Robert Barry , Utica, and Pvt. Francis Barry, with the Army in Germany, and several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.
(Note: Edward's wife, Catherine, was expecting a child at the time of her husband's death. Edward Barry III was born several months after his father's passing.)
