Whitesboro - Mrs. Catherine M. Newell 56 of 2 Berra La., died Sunday in St Luke's Memorial Hospital Center, Utica, after a brief illness. She was born in Utica, daughter of Dominick and Theresa Vitale and attended Utica Schools. She was married to Arthur Newell in 1952 in Utica. She had been employed by Horrocks-Ibbotson Co., retiring in 1969. Mrs. Newell was a member of St. Paul's Church.
Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Reynolds (Ruth) Bailey, Whitesboro; Miss Karen Newell, at home; three sons Michael Barry, Watertown; Edward Barry, Utica; Arthur Newell, at home; five brothers Anthony Vitale, Peter Vitale, James Vitale, Thomas Vitale. All of Utica; Nicholas Vitale, Tucson, Ariz.
The funeral will be at 9:30 from the Heintz Funeral Home, Utica and at 10 from St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in St Peter's Cemetery, Utica.
