Mrs. Marjorie Doyle (Gorham) Lowery, age 79, of Joyce, La., passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at her residence in Joyce, La. She was a member of Old Union Baptist Church in Joyce, La.
She was the daughter of the late Jacob Sydney Gorham and the late Amanda Jane (McDavid) Gorham. Mrs. Lowery was also preceded in death by her husband, Odell Benjamin Lowery; son, David Roynald Lowery; daughter, Ruby Marie Lowery; grandson, Roger Dale Lowery, II; four brothers, Mack, Woody, V.J., and James Gorham; sister, Polly Bearden.
She is survived by her
One Daughter, Veo (Lowery) Carpenter and husband James Eugene of Joyce, La.
Two Sons, Buddy Lowery and wife Mary of Huttig, Ark. Roger Lowery and wife Iwilla of Sikes, La.
Two Sisters, Marie Sutton of Goldonna, La. Jewel Shelton of Olla, La.
One Brother, Jerry Gorham of Joyce, La.
Nine grandchildren Sixteen great-grandchildren
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La. where the family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM and on Friday, February 23, 2007 from 8:00 AM until service time. Funeral services will be held at Southern Funeral Home on Friday at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Wallace Ingles and Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Interment will be at Old Union Cemetery in Joyce, La.
