Mrs. Marie Sutton, age 92 of Goldonna, Louisiana passed away at her residence Tuesday, December 6, 2011. She was a homemaker and a member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sutton was the daughter of the late Jake Gorham and the late Mandy McDavid Gorham. She was also preceded in death by her husband Raymond L. Sutton, Grandson Douglas Harston, three brothers Mack Gorham, V. J. Gorham, Woody Gorham, James Ray Gorham, and two sisters Doyle Lowery, and Polly Bearden.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by two sons Frank Sutton of Sunset, Texas and Richard Sutton of Saline, La., four daughters Neva Darling of Springtown Tx., Betty Moore, Dottie Harston, and Patricia Godwin all of Goldonna, La.,
She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, one brother Jerry C. Gorham of Joyce and one sister Jewell Meyers of Olla, La.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sutton will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday , in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wallace Ingles officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery in Joyce under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Pallbearers will be: Dan Black, Jerry Phillips, Bill Harston, Michael Sutton, Brian Sutton and Donnie Sutton. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Phillips, David McGilvray, Steve Sutton and Fred McGilvray.
