Robert Edward Baxley jr. - age 73, of Leadvale Road, White Pine, passed away Saturday morning, January 10, 1998, at his home after an extended illness.
He was the son of Robert Edward and Ida Brown Baxley, Sr.
Robert was a Veteran of WW II having served with the 740th Tank Battilion.
He was a retired employee of the American Enka Corp.
He was a member of Leadvale Masonic Lodge #390 F.& A.M. Member of Jefferson Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star, served as County Commissioner of the 3rd District of Jefferson County for a number of years, member of Leadvale Baptist Church.
He was a historian and was quite interested in our local history.
