Iris N. Hudson, 96, 1305 K. St., Bedford, died 1:35 a.m. Sunday at Hospitality House. She had been ill 2 years. She was born July 19, 1891 in Lawrence County to Theodore and Elizabeth Jane (McConnell) Davis.
She first married Austin Carmichael in 1911 and he died in 1913. She next married Milfred S. Riddle and he died in 1948. Her third husband, Patrick Hudson, died in 1973.
She was a homemaker. Survivors include one son, Dwight D. Carmichael, R. 2, Springville; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Ruby) Summers, Edwardsport; nine grandchildren twenty-seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Vida Hert, Westview Manor and Laura Rush, New Albany. She was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, four grandchildren, one son, Harry D. Hudson and one daughter, Betty (Hudson) Heady. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will be in Owensburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
