Shirley was born Sept. 12, 1927, in Independence, Missouri, to the late Harold Columbus and Almyra Emma Billings Clow. Following high school, she attended business school. She worked as a legal secretary for a lawyer.
Shirley married William E. Hedges in 1946; he preceded her in death in 1952. In 1953, she married Carl S. Rasmussen; he preceded her in death in 2011.
She was a member of the Bitterroot Quilters Guild, Victor Bridge Club, Bobbins Mini Group, Senior Center Pinochle Group, and was a member of the Corvallis United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wilma Drigalla; beloved husband, Carl Rasmussen.
She is survived by her children: William Rasmussen, Betsy Matthew, Bob Rasmussen and Diane Walden; five granddaughters, five grandsons, three great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Corvallis with Rev. Debbi Wacker officiating. A luncheon will follow immediately after the church service provided by the church volunteers. Private family interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.
The family suggests memorials to Marcus Daly Memorial Hospice or the Corvallis United Methodist Church.
