Delmar was born September 18, 1940 to Arnold and Doris Kautz Andrist in Roscoe Township, MN. He attended Pine Island School and later entered into the US Navy, serving from 1957 - 1961. After his service he met and eventually married Bonnie Baker on June 16, 1962. Delmar and Bonnie lived and worked in Rochester, MN after the birth of their daughter Coral they moved to Ely, MN, where their son Wayne was born and Delmar worked for Reserved Mining Co. They settled in Deer River, MN and worked for JHT trucking until his retirement.
Preceded by his parents, son Wayne, and brother-in-law Duane White.
Survived by his wife of 51 years Bonnie, daughter Coral (Richard) Quandt, 2 granddaughters Shelby &Cassidi Andrist,1 brother Willard (Patti)Andrist, 3 sisters Marlys White, Denise (Mark) Robinson, Charlotte (Art) Davidson.
