Erma was born September 1, 1917 to Christian and Augusta (Meister) Weidner in Millboro, South Dakota. Her parents emigrated from Russia in 1906 and moved to Lipscomb County, Texas on March 5, 1925. Erma and her 11 brothers and sisters were taught about hard work in difficult times and about Christian values that she would use all her life.
Johnny Redelsperger and Erma Weidner were married in Woodward, Oklahoma on February 22, 1936. They were true and loving partners during their lives farming and ranching southwest of Follett. They retired in 1970 and moved into Follett. Erma was active for many years in the Home Demonstration Club, taught Sunday school, was also in the church choir and Women's Ensemble. "Gran" could sew anything and was more than willing to try out new things-from oil painting to quilting. In the last few years, she discovered jewelry making.
She was preceded in death by her husband; five brothers-Bill, Otto, Chris, Bobby and Rueben; five sisters-Elsie Kraft, Emma Sauer, Esther Oblander, Beata Borth and Jean Imke; and one son-in-law Paul Heil.
She is survived by her daughter Phoebe Kaiser and husband Noel of Weatherford, OK; her son Arlen Redelsperger and wife Beverly of Amarillo; granddaughters Paula Wade and husband Brent, Shannon Swiney and husband Dennis and grandson Shaun Heil and wife Elise all of Amarillo; two granddaughters Joanna Arnold and husband David and Deanna Kuykendall and husband Chuck both of McKinney; great-grandchildren Nichole Waller and husband T.J., Jared Wade and wife Ashley, Bradley Swiney, Megan Swiney, Alexander Heil, Nichols Heil, Jonathan Heil, Braedon Arnold and Ryland Arnold; and great-great-grandchildren Caitlyn Waller, Lorelai Waller, Savannah Waller and Brody Wade.
