Margaret's mother, Verena had a sister, Rosemary (Kiffmeyer) Imbus, who was several years younger than Verena. She did marry soon after after Verena. Rosemary became pregnant with her first child, Eugene about the time Verena died so she was unable to care for Margaret. Rosemary went on to have two girls and then shortly after giving birth to her fourth child, a daughter Rosemary (Kiffmeyer) Imbus died. Rosemary Imbus (the infant) went to live with Cresentia Clooney, Margaret Koch Kiffmeyer's sister, aunt of Verena LaZebnick and Rosemary Imbus. Cresentia Clooney is the great-grandmother of George Clooney. When Margaret was about 7, her father married Cordelia Price and Margaret was then raised by Charles and Cordelia "Grandma Zebby" along with Cordelia's nephew, Cliff. Margaret was also predeceased by her father, Charles LaZebnick, Sr.
Margaret was only 44 years old at the time of her death.
She was survived by her step-mother Cordelia (Price) LaZebnick of Canadensis, Pennsylvania, several aunts and uncles, her first husband, Donald Virgil Raney and their three daughters, Dona Virginia (Rainey) Whitaker and her husband Jim, Deborah Jane (VanNest) Cowdrey and Michelle Jo (Greene) Mages, and her second husband, Donald Raymond Hood and their daughter Rebecca Susan (Hood) McIntosh as well as 3 grandsons. (Her legacy continues with her descendants now including at least 9 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 8 great-grandsons, and 8 great-granddaughters as well as great great grandchildren.)
Margaret worked at Proctor and Gamble, General Electric, The Windjammer and United Dairy Farmers. She was a member of The Independent Order of Foresters.
She was hospitalized and died at Christ Hospital Cincinnati suffering a long battle with cancer. Her memorial and burial was handled by Paul R. Young Funeral Home, Hamilton Ave., Mt. Healthy. She was laid to rest on 6 October 1967.
I may not be able to remember you mom, but I have learned that you have never really gone - you live inside me. You are and always will be loved and cherished.
