Charles Gordon Currie was born on July 5, 1915, in Drumheller, Alberta to Stella Katherine Waldron, age 28, and Harry Winfred Currie, age 36.

In 1916 Harry and his family took the train to Chilliwack BC buying property on the corner of Watson and Carter Road in Sardis.

1921 census:1 Jun 1921 • Lower Sumas PD, Fraser Valley, British Columbia, Canada

545 Carter Road, 40 acre Lot was on the Corner of Carter and Watson. The Original Log home was there however Harry, his father built the Family a more comfortable house. He added a barn and chicken coop.

Charles attended the Sardis Elementary School. In the year 1923-24 his teacher was Miss Charleston and there were 36 students in her class.

Charles enjoyed sports and his family was active in hiking and enjoying the many event in the community.

Charles Graduated from Chilliwack Senior Secondary and was in the Senior Matric Class-Teacher Miss Howe in 1934.

The Depression Years hit everyone hard and Charles worked for his father as well as the Hulbert Hop Yards.

Charles coached teams as well as being in a Basketball Team called The Valley Champions, they won the BC Championship in 1938

1942: Charles worked for the Vedder logging company and it was there his life would change as he was crushed by two logs at Harrison Mills. Charles had been called to war but instead laid in the Mission hospital recovering for 3 months.
In that year once out of the hospital he went to work for the Boeing Factory as a Supervisor for the riveting section. Upon receiving a full recovery statement from his doctor he was then sent for Military Training.

1944: While in training, away from home his beloved mother became ill and passed away. Charles had always been very close to his mother and this news hit him hard.

The War ended just before Charles was to be sent overseas but it was very hard to learn of his best friend's death as well as many others he knew.

After the war ended Charles began his courtship with Elizabeth Klassen. He proposed to her in the St John Anglican parking lot in Sardis, BC. There were many love letters written and so they married Sept 10 1949 in the Carman United Church in Sardis.
Their first home was on Tyson Road in Sardis and then
Charles bought a 5 acre farm on Watson road and raised their family there.
In 1968 Charles bought a 14 acre farm in Rosedale.
After he retire from the Chevron Bulk Plant in Chilliwack he moved back to Sardis where he felt most at home.

Together Charles and Beth have five living children and one who passed away shortly after birth.
