Funeral services were conducted Monday from Henderson's funeral chapel for Mrs Stella Katherine Currie, a past mistress and active member of Loba Jubilee lodge No. 774, whose death occurred Thursday at the family home, 541 Carter Road. The service was taken by Rev. Canon H. P. Barrett, assisted by Rev. John Scott, past grand master, Loa of BC. Grave side services were conducted by members of Loba of Chilliwack. Interment was in IOOF cemetery, when pallbearers were J. Watson, E Wilson, S. M. Carson, J. Bennett, J. Swan and A. E. Norrish.
Mrs Currie was born in New Brunswick 56 years ago and with her family came to Chilliwack in 1917, from Drumheller, Alberta.
She is survived by her husband, Harry W. Currie, two daughters, Mrs E.M. Martin, Veitch Creek, BC.; Mrs A.E. Carlson, Hutchinson, BC.; two sons, James, Chilliwack, and Charles, Victoria; also three grandchildren.
Of interest: The Cemetery where she is laid to rest is now called The Chilliwack Cemetery and is located on Little Mountain. Her husband and son James and Charles are laid to rest there as well.
