Lived in Temperanceville, PA (now Pittsburgh West End) in 1860s-1870s. Lived in Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh NorthSide) until death in 1893. Buried in Union Dale Cemetery, Division 1, Section 8 (single graves), Range 23, Grave 32 (from 3/21/1935 PA Veterans Burial Cards @ Ancestry.com). Historic records state Marble gravestone in 1935 and GAR marker in early 1900s. But, stones not found in 6-2013. Range 23 is row adjacent to north end of "Colored Orphans" plot. Range (row) markers are located at far edge (west) of Section 8 in heavy weeds (just prior to drop-off by fence). Section 8 is located west of Section L in Division 1.
Benjamin was a Fife Major/Private Union Army in the US Civil War, PA 62d, then 168th, then 101st (infantry reserve).
