the 3rd child of Jonathan and Jane Turnmire Lewis. He married Margaret Jane Montgomery on 31 Mar 1887.

JACOB LEWIS
Jacob Lewis, son of Jonathan and Jane Lewis, was born in Putnam county, Mo., April 4, 1864, and departed this life in Davenport, Iowa, March 8, 1929, at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 4 days.
He was married to Janie Montgomery, April 3, 1887. He leaves to mourn their loss, a wife and nine children, namely: Charles Lewis, Arivil, Roy, Earl, Berl Lewis and Stella Linnaberry and Crystal Ewoldt all of Davenport, Ia., and Ray Lewis of Livonia, Mo., and Sarah Thorington of Stahl, Mo., besides 28 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; four brothers, six sisters surviving, besides many relative and friends.
Funeral services were held at Martinstown MO, March 10, l929, conducted by A. M. Wiles at the Church of Christ. The body was laid to rest in Martinstown cemetery.
The pallbearers were his six sons--Charles, Roy, Arvel, Ray, Earl and Berl.
