WESSELS - Mrs. Florence B. Wessels, 79, 505 N. Main St., died at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, 1972, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born March 24, 1892, in rural Winnebago County, daughter of Wilke and Minnie Brauer. Lived 46 years in Rockford, coming here from German Valley. Married to Mako H. Wessels in German Valley, Feb. 26, 1913. Member of Court Street United Methodist Church, and of the Business and Professional Women's Club and the Cheer-Up Club of Chicago. Survivors include: one brother, William Brauer, Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Mrs. Edward Creagan and John Wessels, both of Rockford; Virginia, Mike, Mark, and Dawn Wessels, all of Lake Geneva, Wis.; two great-grandchildren. A son, Gerald V. Wessels, died in October, 1962, and her husband, Mako, died Dec. 2, 1966.

Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sundberg Funeral Home, 215 N. 6th St., with Rev. John R. Kleinheksel, pastor of Hope Reformed Church, officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
