Donald Wesley Bingham was born on December 28, 1932 at Murray County, Minnesota to George Wesley and Crystal Elna (Yearous) Bingham. Early in his childhood, the family moved to a farm near Lake Cochrane in Deuel County, South Dakota where he grew up. Donald graduated from Balaton High School in 1951. Don served in the United States Army, where he saw action in Korea with the 330th Ordinance Company. PVT-2 Bingham was honorably discharged in 1955. He then lived and worked in Illinois, before becoming employed by the creamery in Canby, Minnesota.
