Blanche L. Babcock, 87, Carthage, died at 10:57 a.m. Saturday at McCune-Brooks Hospital after several months of ill health.
Born October 7, 1906 in Carthage to James and Lillie Harbough, she was a lifelong resident. She was a 1925 graduate of Carthage High School. She was a sales clerk for Killingsworth's Ladies Wear and Carolyn's Fashions here. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She was married to Glenn L. Babcock in May 1929 in Carthage. He died Sept. 28, 1947.
Surviving are three sons, Jim Babcock, Carthage Route 1; Dick Babcock, El Dorado Springs, and Bob Babcock, 1110 River Street; two sisters, Helen Catron, 515 E. Chestnut St., and Betty Bailey, Waxahachie, Texas; 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Park Cemetery. Bob Lyttle, minister, will officiate.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at the Knell Mortuary.
Arrangements are under direction of The Knell Mortuary.
