He married Phila Stewart about 1914.

Harry and Phila had sons Dale Van and Luther Hayden and another child who died.

According to his WWI draft card, he resided at Morgantown in 1917. He worked in confectionary. He had medium height and build, gray eyes and black hair. He also had some sort of injury to his right hand.

In 1920 he and Phila resided in Ward 12, Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana.

In 1930 Harry and Phila resided in Union Twp., Johnson Co., Indiana.

In 1940, he resided in Jackson Twp., Morgan Co., Indiana and was widowed.

According to his WWII draft card, he resided at Mahalasville, Morgan Co., IN, in 1942. He was a farmer.

According to a book called Jacob Fleener by Dora B. Merriman, June, 1996, page 6, he is buried at "Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenwood". Well, there isn't a Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenwood but there is a Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood. Somehow things got misconstrued. But, after checking, he doesn't appear to be buried in Greenwood. He's actually at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. He's probably buried in Section 14 next to his wife and in an unmarked grave.
