George M Brewer of Oakes, ND, formerly of Valley City, ND, died peacefully in his home on December 20, 2010. He was 82 years old.
He was born to George and Burdella (Romelfanger) Brewer on July 8, 1928 at Kensal, ND, where he grew up and attended school. George served his country in the US Army, and was discharged in 1955. He was united in marriage to Joyce Syverson on September 14, 1956. They made their home in Drake, ND and George was employed as a Section Foreman for the Sooline Railroad. After his retirement in 1993, they moved to Valley City, ND, where they lived before moving to Oakes in September of 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; five sons, Scott (Kim) Brewer, Dilworth, MN; David and Mark Brewer, both of Carrington, ND; Paul (Sandy) Brewer, Oakes, ND; and Michael (Kathy) Brewer, Minot, ND; two brothers, Gerald (Frances) Brewer, Jamestown, ND; Donnie Brewer and his wife of CA; two sisters, Alice Pritchert, Valley City, ND; and Joyce Ravnaas, Harvey, ND; thirteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Stephen, a sister Janet, and a brother Kenny.
