Our beloved father and grandfather, James Kenneth Brewer, 73, of Fargo ND, returned to his Lord in the evening of Tuesday October 17, 2006 due to complications from cancer. He had been a resident at the Ottertail Nursing Home in Battle Lake, MN.

James, also known as Kenny, was born on July 27, 1933 in Kensal, ND, where he grew up on the family farm.

He served in the Army 61st Infantry and was stationed in Germany. He then worked as a mechanic in Jamestown, ND, where he met Ella. He married Ella Gums on September 17, 1960 and they moved to Kensal where he started farming and did mechanic work. James and Ella had six children that grew up on the family farm.

James is survived by his children, Burdella Abell; Jeff (Tonya); Bernie (Gayle); Dale, all of Fargo, ND; and Dorian Brewer, San Diego, CA; six grandchildren, Cierra Abell; Samantha and Danielle, all of Fargo, ND; James and Cody, Jamestown, ND; and Blaine Brewer, Wahpeton, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ella; and infant daughter; son, Jaime Brewer; and infant grandson, Kevin Brewer.

James was a kind, gentle and simple man and we will celebrate his life with family and friends.

Memorial Service: Saturday, October 21, 2006 at 11am at
Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo ND.
Visitation: Family and friends may gather one hour prior
to the service on Saturday.
