Joyce Ravnaas, 76, Harvey, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.

Joyce Brewer, daughter of George and Burdella (Romelfanger) Brewer, was born Dec. 27, 1935, at Carrington. She grew up on the family farm near Kensal.

She married Morris Ravnaas on Nov. 25, 1961, on the Brewer family farm near Kensal. They made their home in Manfred where they raised five children. Morris passed away Jan. 23, 1981.

Joyce was a homemaker for many years prior to her husband's illness. She later worked at various jobs providing cleaning, outreach and chore services. She enjoyed volunteering at the Harvey Food Pantry for many years. She also enjoyed putting puzzles together, being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their school events.

She was a member of the Harvey Senior Citizens and the Eagles Auxiliary and St. Cecelia's Catholic Church, both of Harvey.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ravnaas of Harvey, Ruth (Steve) Schuh of Anamoose and Diane (Kevin) Baumbach of Emerado; two sons, Douglas (Shelly) of Fessenden and Keith of Harvey; nine grandchildren, Dusty, Wayne and Brandon Baumbach, Tony (Mel), Jeff and Casey Schuh, and Karlie (fiance, Cole Neumiller), Kylie and Kyle Ravnaas; two great-grandchildren, Johnny Sarno Baumbach and Mason Schuh; one sister, Marilyn "Alice" Prichert of Valley City; one brother, Donald Brewer of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Morris; her parents; one sister, Janet Carr; and three brothers, Gerald, George and Kenneth Brewer.

Her funeral will be held Monday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Harvey, with burial at the Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden.
