Fred L. Wimpy Boone, 88, Noblesville, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at his residence in Noblesville.


He was born on March 13, 1921, in Noblesville, Indiana to Scott and May B. (Huffman) Boone.


He graduated from Lapel High School and served with the US Army during WWII. Fred lived and farmed his entire life in Wayne Township, Hamilton County. He was a member of the Lapel American Legion Post 212, and a member of the Lapel Masonic Lodge #625.


He is survived by one brother, Donald G. Boone, Anderson; one nephew and two nieces, Kenneth R.(wife Terry)Boone, Noblesville; Patricia Boone (husband, Mike)Hollingsworth, Speedway; Judith Ann (Boone)Touby, Henderson, Nevada; one sister-in-law Annabel Boone; and several great nieces and nephews. .


He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Albert F. Sam Boone, Charles Philip Boone, and Paul Gene "Skip" Boone.


A Military Graveside will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel, conducted by the Lapel America Legion Post 212.


Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm Friday, April 10, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. A Masonic memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 pm by the Lapel Masonic Lodge.


Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 212, Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 789, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
