Funeral services for Mr. Robert Leon Arterberry, 59, of Lone Grove is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with the Rev. Terry Tolbert and the Rev. Jimmy May officiating. Interment will follow at Newport Cemetery in Lone Grove.
Robert Leon was born August 25, 1952, at Madill, Okla., to Mr. Walter Robert Arterberry and Mrs. Ruby Lee (Meritt) Arterberry. He departed this life Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Ardmore.
Robert Leon was raised at Madill attending school there. He and the former Ms. Donna Kay Harkins were united in marriage on April 26, 1980, at Lone Grove.
They made their home in Lone Grove where Robert owned and operated his own trucking business, "JR's Express" for several years hauling mail and other freight.
He loved OU football and also enjoyed gardening, fishing and most especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death was his father, Robert in 1979; and a nephew, Ricky Peregrine.
Survivors include his loving wife, Donna of the home; daughter, Michelle McGuire and husband, Alan of Lone Grove; two sons, Calvin Arterberry and wife, Misty of Kingston and Jaren Arterberry and wife, Mimi of Lone Grove; mother, Mrs. Ruby Arterberry of Madill; parents-in-law, Bill and Margie Harkins of Lone Grove; brother, Freddie Arterberry and wife, Marcie of Madill; grandchildren, Bryson, Brody, Kaitlyn, Jake, Olivia, Sarah, Taylor, Aaron, Brandon and Skyla.
