Born on March 26, 1922, in Mancos, Colo. Rose completed her journey in this world, passing peacefully on March 6, 2008, in Sacramento. Rose first came to Plymouth, Calif., in 1958 with her husband Jess and her family. They bought and ran "Rose's Restaurant" on Main Street. She later worked at the Plymouth Elementary School, where she was the head cook. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Jess Avila, four daughters, Joanne LeCompte, Olivia Avila, Linda Avila, and Sara Avila, and three sons, Joseph Quintana, Jess Avila Jr., and Gregory Avila, 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends are welcome for a vigil service on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the ELK GROVE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, Calif., ph. (916) 686-1888. Services are scheduled for Friday, March 14, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. in ELK GROVE FUNERAL CHAPEL.
