Floyd D. Bomgardner, 86, died Monday, May 12, 2008 in Cedar Haven Nursing Home, Lebanon.

He was born on December 8, 1921 to John A. and Minnie Martin Bomgardner in South Annville Township, Lebanon County.

Floyd retired from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel for Indiantown Gap Military Reserve, Annville. He was a decorated veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Floyd was of the Methodist Faith.

He was an avid bowler and a member of the Lebanon County Bowler's Association.

Floyd was the husband of the late Christine M. Grimes Bomgardner whom died September 1, 1983.

Surviving are his sons: Floyd D. "Jack" Bomgardner, Jr., and his wife, Juanita of Middletown and Earl J. Bomgardner, Cedar Haven Nursing Home, Lebanon; a grandson: Christopher R. Bomgardner, Lebanon; and, a sister: Nancy Ulrich of Lancaster.

Relatives and friends are invited for a time of viewing on Thursday, May 15, 2008 from 06:00 to 07:00 PM at the Rothermel Funeral Home, 25 W. Pine Street, Palmyra, followed by his funeral service at 07:00 PM.

Burial will be on Friday, May 16, 2008 in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at 10:30 AM.
