21 June 1972: Wallace A. Baldwin, 67, 24 N. Locust St., Palmyra, died at 1:20 a.m. today in the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg, where he had been a patient the last three weeks. A retired butcher, he was one of four generations in meat processing in Palmyra. The business was begun by his grandfather, continued by his father, the late Daniel S. Baldwin, and then Wallace Baldwin took it over until 1956, when it was turned over to a nephew, Daniel A. Baldwin. Wallace Baldwin's mother was the late Elizabeth Brightbill Baldwin. He was a member of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren and the F. S. Carper Men's Bible Class of the church school. He is survived by his wife, Martha Ruth Strickler Baldwin; a son, Michael J. of Dallastown RD 1, York County, a nephew Daniel A. of Palmyra and two grandsons. [Lebanon Daily News]
