Add PhotosGround for the present church was broken on May 25, 1924, and the completed church was dedicated on October 10, 1926, by Dennis, Cardinal Dougherty.
Father O'Neill passed away in 1931 and was buried on the church lawn. Father John J. Toner became pastor in 1943, and it was during his pastorate that a new rectory and convent were built. Upon his death in 1956, he too was interred on the church lawn.
Saint Cyprian's Church was established in 2000 when Saint Carthage and theTransfiguration of Our Lord parishes were consolidated. In 2013, four additional West Philadelphia parishes were consolidated into Saint Cyprian's: Our Lady of the Rosary, Our Lady of Victory, and Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament.
At some point in the church's recent history, the remains of Fathers O'Neill and Toner were removed to Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Delaware County. A memorial cross to the two priests remains.
