The Saint Cyril of Alexandria Parish was established by Philadelphia's Cardinal Dougherty, who appointed Father Edmond O'Shea to be its pastor. The parish and school were established in 1928, and upon his decease in 1949, Father O'Shea was interred in the church grounds. His successor, Father John G. Fallon, was likely interred on the grounds upon his death in 1956.

Saint Cyril's parish was merged with the Saint Philomena parish in 2013 and officially disestablished on January 11, 2021. The remains of Fathers Fallon and O'Shea were disinterred from their burial on the church grounds and re-interred in the section reserved for the burial of priests in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, in June 2021.
