Add PhotosThe date of the foundation of Kinoviyevskoye cemetery can be considered in 1848, when at the initiative of the bishop's house caretaker hieromonk Paisius the first burials took place behind the church of All Saints. Not only monks were buried at the cemetery but also the residents from the surrounding areas. By 1855 there were already about 150 graves.
At Kinoviyevskoye cemetery originally were buried elderly monks, peasants of the surrounding villages, the inhabitants of the Greater and Lesser Ohta and poorer traders. There were from 20 to 50 internments per day. According to the registers of births, about half were children's graves.
In 1928 and 1964 the territory of the cemetery was greatly expanded. Under the protection of the state are the mass graves of soldiers defending Leningrad and residents who died in the siege during World War II. As a result of 1987-1988 reconstruction of the cemetery on the site of the buried pond was constructed columbarium.
