Located just north of Hillside Cemetery, southwest of Portage la Prairie. It offers a very peaceful garden like setting, giving families a place of reflection at their loved ones final resting place. It is cared for and maintained by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel year-round.

Over the years we have worked hard to enhance the cemetery to include a section for above ground granite monuments on larger graves, columbaria, walking paths, benches, a scattering garden and a nature path. We have also just placed 2 new columbariums on large cement foundations for families that prefer this option for interment.

Evergreen Memorial Gardens is also the home of the only crematorium in Portage la Prairie, and has been in operation since 2005 by McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel.

Though this cemetery was established much more recently, as the location of a historic part of the settlement and development of this part of Manitoba and further afield into western Canada, the families of the people of the place had lives that included many stories.
